The Sonic Acts Critical Writing Workshop focuses on specific aspects – language, style, and focus – of writing as a craft. Emerging writers and critics are brought together to deliberate the different critical modes we can use to write about, describe, and discuss art, theory, sound, and music while thinking about how to package ideas. The writers – covering the conference, performances, and other events during the Academy – engage with new conceptions of learning that focus on artistic practice as a means to explore new ideas.
Following the editions in 2016 and 2017, the writing team is again led by writer and researcher Jennifer Lucy Allan and me.
