Katía Truijen

(NL, 1990) is a media researcher, writer, curator and musician based in Rotterdam, often taking the train to Amsterdam, The Hague, Antwerp and Brussels, or cycling through the lowlands. Her interests revolve around sonic and spatial production, and developing public formats – from public programmes, performances and parties to publications – and long-time collaborations. Her current research focuses on modes of attuning collectively to changing socio-political and ecological realities through sound (Tuning In).

In 2022, Katía curates the RITUAL discourse programme for Rewire festival, the conference on MUTATION as part of FIBER Festival, and works as co-researcher on CRAFTED, on archiving the tacit knowledge surrounding analogue audiovisual production, with the Vrije Universiteit and the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision. Between 2014 – 2021 Katía developed research projects and public programs within Het Nieuwe Instituut’s Research department.

Katía is co-founder of //\ hoekhuis magazine, and part of Loom.
